So why is there not a $1 burrito date for every Panchero's location? Seems dominated by the midwest if you ask me and there is only one even near me (and FYI, the competition offers endless piles of fresh chips and salsa, along with a very comparable burrito).

Hey Kevin!
The Barbacoa was originally only meant to be a limited time offer and run it's course in the stores for that time. However, a few stores saw a large surge in popularity that continued up to the suggested time the product was supposed to end. Because of that popularity a few stores chose to continue to order the product due to the demand. After a few weeks, however, the demand dropped significantly and it was no longer cost effective to keep it on the menu.
We continue to run limited time offers about three times a year just to give customers a chance to switch up their usual burrito routine. Rarely do we plan on keeping one of the limited time offers as a permanent menu item. I hope this answered your question, Kevin! Thanks!

So, did the barbacoa experiment "fail?" Or was it always supposed to end no matter how successful? I guess I'm wondering if it's one of those things where its popular but either expensive or time-consuming, or if literally 8 people ordered it ever...

I really think the iBurrito app misses the mark. It has two essential functions: design your own burrito, and find a pancheros, but I feel like both of these functions are flawed.
1. The find a pancheros doesn't utilize the iphone gps unless you ask it to. The interface just seems kind of clunky to me. It's be much nicer if it just immediately showed you pancheros within 20 miles and allowed you to search other states if you wanted from there.
2. The design your own burrito doesn't do very much. So I can post a burrito to my facebook or twitter. Not interesting, adds no value, and the sounds it makes are pretty annoying.

I would love it if the iphone app were to have some ability to link with my burrito purchases. Then I would have a reason to own the application. As it is, it's an absolute waste of marketing potential.

FIRST! Seems like you had good intentions with the application but it really misses out on a few items to keep people using it. The ability to send your burrito with ingredient listing after it's been made via email and save your favorites. Perfect for offices when someone says "Hey I'm going to Panchero's anyone want anything?" It's fun for a few times but I don't think I'll use it beyond the "find the store" feature.

Sorry to hear you missed out. We had great turnouts in both of our Bloomington visits. Thanks for the input about the tour. I really hope we are able to continue the tour next year. I mean, who doesn't want free Panchero's burritos delivered out of a hummer!?

Sorry, unfortunately we won't be able to. Lansing is scheduled as our last stop of the year. The Tour has been a lot of fun though and we are looking to do another event like it next year. I have put Ann Arbor on the list of possibilities for next year.
